Genovese basil is the ideal variety for making pesto. The fresh leaves, with their delicate aroma, spice up countless dishes.
Grows well in pots and containers. Provide a warm and sunny location. Sow in a seed tray or small pot. Grow at 20°C and plant out in a sunny spot in the garden from mid-May, spacing them 20 cm apart. Sow directly in the ground from mid-May. Young plants can be kept over winter in a pot on a sunny windowsill.
