Description

Estimated seeds: 150+ per pack

Livingstone Daisy (Ice Plant) is an old, popular variety. These low-growing, sun-loving plants produce a carpet of bright, cup-shaped flowers in mixed shades — perfect for rockeries, borders, gravel gardens and containers. They’re drought-tolerant, fast to establish and make a spectacular seasonal groundcover that’s easy for beginners and collectors alike.

Sow indoors in February–March (or direct-sow after last frost) at 15–25 °C in trays or small pots on the surface of a free-draining seed mix — do not bury the tiny seeds (lightly cover up to ~1–3 mm). Keep the compost lightly moist and provide bright light; germination usually occurs within 7–14 days. Prick out seedlings after 5–8 weeks and transplant to a sunny, well-drained site; space plants about 12–20 cm apart. In warm/coastal areas you can also sow in autumn for winter/spring displays.
