Very suitable for pickling. Like cucumbers, gherkins belong to the Cucumis sativus family, but they are completely different varieties.
Sow 2-3 seeds in a pot, 1 cm deep, keeping the strongest plant. Grow at 20°C. Transplant the plants in a sunny spot in the garden from mid-May. Sow directly in the ground from late May. Once the plants have 5 leaves, remove the growing tip from each plant. You can then harvest from July to October. Harvest the fruits regularly when they are 5 to 10 cm long.
