Description
Low runner bean with long (13 cm), beautiful red and white speckled pods, of which the white and red speckled beans, fresh or dried, are used in soups, with lamb, etc.
Sow from April-May in well-warmed soil (>15°C) until the end of July, after the risk of night frost has passed, in a sunny, warm location. Sow two seeds every 10 cm, in rows about 50 cm apart. Sowing depth: 3 to 4 cm. For early cultivation, sow indoors and plant out after mid-May. For fresh beans, harvest when the pods begin to yellow. For dried beans, harvest when the pods are completely dry and brown.
